Art Collection at Foresters Hall

The Foresters Hall Art Collection brings together international names and contemporary voices in a carefully curated selection of paintings, photographs, prints, and sculpture.

Guests encounter works throughout the house and gardens: iconic portraits of cultural legends, lyrical abstractions, playful contemporary prints, and site-specific sculptures.

Alex Katz — Self-Portrait (Passing) (1990)

A rare example where Katz applies his signature flattened realism to himself — at once distant and revealing. Acquired in NYC, this is a favourite of the proprietors and is one of Katz’s “big face portraits” as they were affectionately called.

Alex Katz — Black Hats (2012)

Figures in oversized hats and sunglasses embody Katz’s fascination with fashion, style, and contemporary cool. This Katz piece was acquired in London a year after it was painted. Katz’s works are today held in over 100 public collections worldwide, solidifying his status as one of the preeminent forces in contemporary art.
